The Bolivian representative of the Peoples' World Conference on Climate Change and Mother Earth's Rights will propose a world referendum that could gather 2 billion people to stop global warming.

Bolivian ambassador to the United Nations Pablo Solon told the press
Wednesday that this proposal has a purpose -- namely that the Conference could approve taking this initiative to all governments.
"Our goal is to reach some 2 billion voters ... the only thing that can save humans from a climate tragedy is the exercise of democracy in the world," Solon said.
The world referendum was already proposed by Bolivian President Evo Morales at the Copenhagen Summit in December 2009. The questions of the referendum "will be discussed, enriched and complemented in the Conference, and we will see how the world's referendum will be implemented," Solon said.
